  • Frequency 20 to 100 Hz
  • High amplitude
  • Most common muscles: frontalis and temporalis muscles (eg, tightening of the jaw muscles)
  • Muscle artifacts represent motor unit potentials as typically observed on needle electrode examination during electromyogram
  • A high frequency filter can reduce this artifact
