Spike slow wave complex

  • Spike followed by a slow wave (usually the slow wave is of higher amplitude than the spike)
  • Spike:
    • Clearly distinguishable from background activity
    • Sharp peak at conventional paper speeds (i.e. 30 mm/sec)
    • Duration of 20-70 ms
